Overnight in Hanoi

Tam Coc Ninh BinhBreakfast is served at hotel. We’re heading out bustling Hanoi at 7.30am and drive with 2 ½ hours through Red River Delta dotting with beautiful scenery to Ninh Binh Province southern Hanoi. Arrived at Tam Coc, we process to take 2 hours of wonderful sightseeing on Sampan rowing boat through the fascinating rice fields that features the stunning karst formations and surrounding natural beauty as well as peddling through mysterious limestone caves while enjoying the tranquil calm. Enjoy lunch at a local restaurant.

Afternoon, continue to the significant Bich Dong Pagoda where we will hike up and down to observe religious and interesting places at low, middle and upper pagodas built aside at rocky mountain, learn from your tour guide about local religion, pagoda architectures and history while taking a deep breathtaking to enjoy beautiful landscapes from the highest pagoda. Our last stop will be at Hoa Lu – the ancient Royal Capital of Vietnam dates back to 10th century before it was moved to and established the capital in Hanoi. From there, we will only have a quick visit from the outside at the bridge of the front gate of Hao Lu (depends on time) and unlock its great effort in the history in term of unique art works and architectures. Finally, we make our way back to Hanoi.

Temple of Literature HanoiBreakfast is served at hotel. We set off at 8.00am for a fully guided tour within Ba Dinh Square, visit the main attractions included the famous Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, One Pillar Pagoda with most interesting architecture and 10th century Temple of Literature – the first national university of Vietnam along with rich history. Enjoy delicious lunch at Hoang Cuisine restaurant (or similar).

Afternoon, we observe Hoa Lo Prison which tells you an interesting war from French colonial time to Vietnam and American War. Continue to visit Vietnam Museum of Ethnology – the significant place to witness the best collection, documentation, exhibition and preserving the cultural and historic patrimony of Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups. Next, we take rickshaw (cyclo) explore the popular Old Quarter admired by attractive daily life and bustling local activities. Ending the cyclo ride at Thang Long Opera Theatre, we then enjoy a traditional, unique water puppet show.

Halong Bay CruiseBreakfast is served at hotel. Prepare yourselves with light packing ready to be picked up by shuttle bus between 8.00-8.30am at your hotel and start your trip to explore the most amazing Halong Bay in the North of Vietnam.
Note: Private car/minivan round trip transfers Halong Bay is available upon request.

On the way, we will have a quick stop in the middle of the way to rest. We will reach Halong cruise port around 12.30pm then process the registration and get transferred by tender to Swan Cruise. After safety brief, a welcome drink and checking in, delicious Vietnamese set menu will be served while leisurely cruising further into Bai Tu Long Bay, enjoy kayaking through the karst and breathtaking nature, swimming and relaxing before getting back to the cruise for sunset party.

Evening, have sumptuous set dinner on board and it’s your free time to challenge yourself in Vietnamese puzzle games, or gathers your group/family for a board game; try your luck with squid fishing or simply have a cocktail and enjoy the quiet night on the bay.

Halong BayRise a bit early in the morning for Sunrise Tai-chi section on sundeck or catch a morning view of the stunning bay’s landscape with a cup of tea or coffee.

Breakfast will be served in Western style, familiar to you to fulfill your strength and ready for another exploring day to the well-hidden Thien Canh Son Cave for an hour then return to the boat you will have about 30 minutes to freshen up and finish packing.

Around 10.00, attend a Vietnamese cooking demonstration. You can quickly learn a simple but delicious Vietnamese dish or challenge yourself in fruit and vegetable carving. Next, we enjoy a traditional Vietnamese lunch on the boat while the cruise is heading back to the harbor and disembark at Halong cruise port. Kuang Si WaterfallsBreakfast is served at hotel. We set off at 8.45am and journey passing rural Lao countryside and Hmong tribe villages then we stop for a short visit Ban Na Ouane Hmong minority village where you witness their basic living and daily activities before going for a worth visit at Buffalo Dairy that you’re gonna observe how they feed, milk buffaloes and get to know how some kinds of cheeses are produced from buffalo dairy in the region. Continue our journey to visit the fascinating Kuang Si Waterfalls where we have a walking up to wander on the top of the waterfalls, enjoy the tranquil surrounding and beautiful views. Return to the major area then spend times to observe its natural beauty with take nice photos, get refreshed and cooled off, and swim in crystal blue water pools. We’ll then visit the Black Bear Rescue Centre before having lunch at a selected local restaurant.

Afternoon, we process to take a long tail boat which sails on the mighty Mekong River admired by beautiful scenery of river, mountain and forest then our boat slowly moves close the mountain cave mouth where we walk along the stairs up into limestone caves which house hundreds of Buddha images as it has come a sacred place for worship for many centuries. Unlock interesting legends and story about the caves from your tour guide as if we enjoy the spectacular view of Mekong River. Near the end of the trip, we will visit and see the process of Lao rice whiskey at Ban Xang Hai which is popularly known as the rice whiskey village in Luang Prabang, and it’s a nice time to take a sip before returning hotel in the evening.

Alms Giving CeremonyBreakfast is served at hotel. We rise a bit early in the morning to observe Buddhist saffron monks in progress searching for alms offers from locals which it is religiously known as traditional alms giving ceremony that all tourists can’t definitely ignore when visit Luang Prabang.

Return hotel for breakfast before heading out again to stroll at Phosy market to observe bustling trades between locals and vendors. Continue to challenge 328 steps up to the top of Phousi Hill to catch the spectacular views of Luang Prabang city, Mekong & Nam Khan Rivers, forests and mountains. Afterwards, visit Royal Palace which is one of national museums in Laos that was built by French during French colonial period, see Heuan Chan Heritage – the 19th century and well reserved wooden house in Luang Prabang then we’ll wander to observe the finest artistic styles of Buddhist monasteries included Wat Sensoukharam, important Wat Xiengthong and Wat Wisunarat at the end of the trip.

The rest of the afternoon is reserved as free and easy.

Angkor WatBreakfast is served at hotel. We’re journeying out of hotel at 8.00am the South Gate of Angkor Thom atop 4 giant faces that religiously represents compassion, sympathy, equanimity and charity. Stroll around Bayon temple consisting of more than 200 smiling faces in stone, admired by interesting temples including Baphuon, Phimeanakas, terrace of leper king and terrace of elephant. Resume the journey to visit Ta Prohm temple adorned with the stunning, amazing tree roots where Lara Croft Tomb Raider was filmed.
Enjoy Khmer set lunch followed by a soft drink or fresh coconut juice at a selected local restaurant.

Afternoon, continue to witness the marvelous Angkor Wat – the world’s heritage listed by UNESCO in 1992 and the largest unrivaled monument in the world. Built by Suryavarman II in 12th Century, Angkor Wat is considered as one of the top destinations in Asia and is a must-see in your lifetime. Learning from your tour guide the amazing history, its ancestral incredible, architectural masterpieces and the finest carvings dates back to the Khmer Empire when it dominated the largest parts of Southeast Asia.

Note: Visiting beautiful sunset is available at Phnom Bakheng, please speak to our tour guide to manage this for you. This is a hiking up (Approx. 30 minutes/way) to the hill and it’s always touristy or skip it if you feel tired.

Overnight in Siem Reap

Kompong Phluk VillageBreakfast is served at hotel. We set off at 8.30am then heading out of the hassle Siem Reap city about 40 minute drive to Kampong Phluk village of Tonle Sap Lake. The journey passes interesting city highlight and enroute to stroll around Rolous market to see trading activities before taking a boat trip along canal toward the centre of Kampong Phluk. Once we arrive, the boat begins to slow down to let you enjoy the surrounding admired by amazing houses atop high poles, come across the highlight of fishing activities as well as see people selling fruits/vegetable/meats on their boats, you sometimes see kids in student uniforms coming back from their classes. Witness how life works on the water and how people make the lake as home then we resume take canoe to explore the pleasant mangroves, enjoy the serenity while taking picturesque photos and you may see a few waterbirds. Continue by our boat to see the great lake of Tonle Sap, learn from your tour guide about ecosystem and its rich biosphere reserve.

Banteay Srei TempleWe leave early at 5.00am then drive within Angkor jungle toward the magnificent Angkor Wat where we walk to watch the spectacular sunrise over Angkor Wat towers and capture its beautiful sunrise reflection at the lotus pond. Return hotel for breakfast before heading out to unlock the intricately carved, beautiful red-pink sandstone temple of Banteay Srei – considered to be a Jewel of Khmer art which features elaborate decorations and its finest details. These factors have made the temple extremely popular with tourists, and have led to its being widely praised as a “precious gem”.

Afternoon, we have a short visit at palm sugar village and other various local handicraft, continue to visit some temples within small/grand circuit including Banteay Kdei, Ta Keo, Preah Khan (Royal Sword), Neak Pean (Coiled Serpents) etc. You can skip a few temples if you feel tired then return hotel for refreshment.

Evening, transfer to have delicate Khmer set dinner followed by traditional Apsara dance performance at a selected local restaurant.

Overnight in Siem Reap

Oxcart RideBreakfast is served at hotel. We set off at 8.00am to a remote countryside village, the journey passes interesting city highlight and huge beautiful rice paddies dotting with palm trees and cattle in the fields. We observe bamboo sticky rice and rice noodle making then we dare sample some deep fried crispy insects before arriving in the village. Next have some fun on the oxcart ride through the village to get interaction along with “Hello” from friendly kids. Disembark the cart, you’ll be greeted by a host family then we get involved with village activity of palm roof making (or/and planting vegetables depends) which it is probably the most unique, memorable experience in your trip to Cambodia. Return to the family’s house, stroll round to see the surrounding which admired by routine, lifestyle, culture, customs and superstitions, enjoy tropical fruits and get refreshed by coconut juice before local lunch is served.

Afternoon, we say goodbye to the host then we make our way back to the hotel but we will pay worth visit to rattan basket weaving in another village. The rest of the afternoon is free at your own leisure.

Resume to Yangon’s oldest administrative buildings which was the former Burma Railways Company built in 19th century, passing the French colonial building of the High Court and the largest white City Hall of Yangon before heading to see the Independent Monument vertically standing out in Mahabandoola Park. Next, witness religious Sule Pagoda that dates back to the time of the Buddha and also ages more than two thousand years old.

Bagan is an ancient city and a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Myanmar, where thousands of Buddhist temples, pagodas and monasteries were built between the 11th and 13th centuries. It is a sacred and spectacular place which can’t be missed out when visiting Myanmar.

After check in, we begin with a visit an elevated temple from where you will have a panoramic view of the magnificent plains of Bagan then visit the golden Shwezigon Pagoda – a Buddhist stupa was built by King Anawrahta and King Kyansittha in the 11th century, and it is a prototype of Burmese stupas and enshrines relics of the Buddha and three previous Buddhas. Followed by the well-preserved frescoes of Gubyaukgyi Temple’s walls, we’ll witness 13th century-built Htilominlo Temple along with a three-story red brick structure with fine plaster carvings and murals. Continue our journey to observe a traditional lacquerware workshop where you browser the best-known Myanmar handicrafts in Bagan before go to unlock Ananda Temple emerges its beautiful Mon-style architecture, along with two unique previous Buddha images. Afternoon, we go out to visit beautiful Mahamuni Temple which is one of the famous temples as well as a significant pilgrimage site in Myanmar, built in 18th century and significantly houses large Buddha statue. Followed by Kuthodaw Pagoda who has earned the title “World’s Biggest Book” because of its impressive 729 marble stone slabs of Buddhist scriptures, we continue to witness a historic Shwenandaw Buddhist monastery admired by its intricately carved Teak wood of walls and roofs which truly enhances the artistic styles of original Royal Palace.

Resume to the final stop at the summit of Mandalay Hill we will capture the spectacular sunset over Irrawaddy River and nice view of Mandalay City.

Hsinbyume PagodaBreakfast is served at hotel. Today we will journey out at 8.00am to explore some of historical sites and most interesting main attractions in Mandalay. Start with 18th century built-temple Mingun Pahtodawgyi and visit the world’s most massive Mingun Bell before taking a boat excursion to reveal daily life of elderly folks at Buddhist nursing home and a kind small donation would be appreciated when visit the place. We continue to reveal the beauty in white of Hsinbyume Pagoda located on the banks of the Irrawaddy River, stroll around and try your best to shoot beautiful photos.

Enjoy lunch at a selected local restaurant.

Afternoon, return and drive to the former capital of the Sagaing Region which is a home to 3,000 monks, Buddhist temples and hundreds of meditation centers, and dotting with remarkable white-golden stupas. We cross a bridge over the Irrawaddy River to where we will stroll to unlock several main temples on Sagaing Hill included Swan Oo Pon Nya Shin and U Min ThoneSae that features numerous Buddha images. Next, we visit the typical Burmese market – the less touristy local market where we’ll observe a lot of wide ranges of local products and various handicrafts, and learn a process of making pottery at a pottery village.

At the end of the trip, we make the way to walk over the 200-year-old U Bein Bridge which is known as the longest Teak wooden bridge in the world, the nice spot you can browser beautiful surroundings or wait to watch the fabulous sunset over Taungthaman Lake.
